Critical Infrastructure Protection: Device, Network, System
June 14, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The IEEE Chattanooga Section invites you to join us for a Lunch and Learn to hear from Dr. Donald Reising as he speaks about Critical Infrastructure Protection. Read more below about the speaker and presentation topic. Abstract: Critical Infrastructure (CI) includes the network of highways, bridges, tunnels, railways, utilities, and buildings that are essential to maintaining normality in day-to-day life. The criticality of our national infrastructure has become paramount with concerns related to the advancement of microelectronics technology, development, and maintenance of a secure and trustworthy supply chain, a continuous integration of intelligent, interconnected devices (i.e., the Internet of Things or IoT), the COVID-19 pandemic, and its age. This talk will highlight Dr. Reising’s ongoing CI protection research at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Bio: DONALD R. REISING received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH in 2006, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Dayton, OH in 2009 and 2012, respectively. From 2008 to 2014, he was an electronics engineer with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. He is currently a University of Chattanooga (UC) Foundation Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He leads the SimCenter thrust area of critical infrastructure protection (CIP). His primary research interest is communication systems, specifically in the application of pattern recognition techniques to the identification of wireless communication devices using distinct and native attributes that are unintentionally imparted to the transmitted waveform. Since joining UTC’s faculty, Dr. Reising has built a CIP-centric research program that spans microelectronics, communications, networks, and their applications. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. Webex meeting invite will be sent once registration closes. All proceeds go towards IEEE scholarships for local unviersity students. **1 PDH Available** Virtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/362861
