The East Tennessee Section is growing in membership, receiving new requests for outreach engagement, and building new industry/organizational relationships. We need volunteers to help us support our local membership growth.

Current Section volunteers utilize IEEE resources and training to provide professional opportunities and benefits for both IEEE members, guests, and stakeholders. They engage the STEM, arts, and public-policy (STEMAP) communities in Technical Sessions; create networking events for peers by hosting Networking Receptions at the start of technical sessions; and build relationships among the Section, Industry/organizations, and other IEEE Sections by hosting distinguished practitioners from across the state/region. Volunteers access regional resources to help advance members’ careers and to mentor students and young professionals. Help is needed to find and recruit speakers for section meetings, assist with the planning and organization for the section Executive Committee (ExCom), learn the roles of section officers for potential advancement, and keep up the section website and news.

Volunteers receive free training, paid travel to attend regional conferences, and sometimes paid international trips. The experience gained will benefit self advancement and contribute your resume with enviable recognition of the world’s largest and most well known technical professional society.

Please complete the following form to express an interest in volunteering for the East Tennessee Section and an officer of the section will get in touch with you. Thanks for your interest.
