Decarbonising Singapore: impact, challenges, and opportunities

With the commitment to curb carbon emissions, Singapore is looking to integrate various distributed energy resources (DERs), such as electric vehicles (EVs), solar PVs, Battery Energy Storage etc. in its electrical grid. In this talk, I will talk about the challenges experienced or expected in Singapore with large scale deployment of DERs. The expected targets will be discussed along with the current situation, progress, and opportunities. Some planning strategies to incorporate EVs and PVs in the system will be discussed as well.
