FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Smoky Mountain Regional will be held in Knoxville at the Thompson Boling Arena on the camps of the University of Tennessee. This is a fantastic program for high school students. FIRST events are an exciting and fun-filled opportunity to see youth in action, applying the knowledge and skills developed through team participation. They build their own robot and then have a specific task for it to do. Farragut High School, Harden Valley Academy, L&N STEM Academy, and Webb School will be among the 80+ teams competing.

Each competition event depends on an abundance of volunteers with a broad spectrum of talents to support operating needs and competition demands. Roles range from handing out safety glasses to organizing the teams as they compete to helping to assembly and disassembly of the playing field and to reset the field after each qualifying round. The event will be held March 30-April2, 2016.

Here is a website listing the volunteer opportunities. If you would like to participate, register to volunteer. You do not have to volunteer for all 3 days.
