Abstract:
Types of Automatic Transfer Switches and their application in electrical distribution systems:
Discussion will center around Automatic Transfer Switches and their applications with respect to different commercial electrical distribution systems and meeting National Electrical Code requirements for Emergency Systems, including UL1008.
Types of automatic transfer switches including 3 and 4 pole applications, open and closed transition and their impact with utility services, 3 cycle and 30 cycle systems, circuit breaker and contactor types, and integrated transfer switches within switchboard and switchgear lineups.

Jeffrey Toolan
Jeffrey Toolan is a Manufacturer’s Representative for various industrial on-site power system components with 30years experience. He has spent the last 22 years representing Eaton’s Automatic Transfer Switch Group with both pre and post sales responsibilities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University, in Washington DC.
