The East Tennessee (ET) PES/PELS Joint Chapter is a joint chapter of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and IEEE Power Electronics Society which covers the East Tennessee area. The ET PES/PELS chapter was established in the Fall of 2017. Our approximately 80 members are industry leaders, practitioners, students, and academics with a common professional interest in electric power, energy, and power electronics. The Chapter organizes numerous events throughout the year, including technical talk, webinar, and tours.

What is the IEEE Power Electronics Society?
The Power Electronics Society (PELS) is one of the fastest-growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). For over 35 years, the Society has facilitated and guided the development and innovation in power electronics technology, which includes the application of circuit theory and design techniques, the development of analytical tools for efficient conversion, control, and condition of electric power, and the effective use of electronic components. Some of our members include distinguished award winners, practitioners, and preeminent researchers. PELS also publishes the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, a top-referenced journal among all IEEE publications, IEEE Power Electronics Magazine, and IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics.
