Minutes:
- New member introductions: Doug, Pratishtha from CSED
- Soliciting potential guest lecture areas for Q2-Q4:
- SC: electric ship propulsion challenges and future directions, AI
- SD knows a contact from Purdue on ship port
- RW knows a contact from ABB on the same topic
- MM has prior experience on medium voltage drives for ship propulsion
- SD: from EPRI- IBR modeling and black start, transformer modeling, smart agriculture and data centers, and from UTK- hardware testbeds; email chain already shared with the ExCom. Depending on the theme decided, SD will connect the relevant speaker
- MM: new technologies for power plants using power electronic systems, has a few contacts (senior engineers from Switzerland, a contact from Norway)
- AS: cybersecurity, power systems resilience with microgrids
- DL: has extensive experience in cybersecurity and can potentially give a lecture
- PM: AI/ML applications on power systems and power electronics components, ancillary services in power systems, IBRs- can reach out to potential contacts
- PS: cybersecurity as it relates to AI and edge computing, energy management and markets for renewable integration (FREEDM center)
- DL: can reach out to the engineering VPs or CTOs of Fortune 500 companies in the ET region to join the ExCom for better knowledge exchange
- SC: electric ship propulsion challenges and future directions, AI
