Chair
Lucas is a distribution engineer for Leidos. Over his four years as a professional, he has worked on distribution line design with a focus on storm hardening and system reliability. Before elevating to the professional level, Lucas was the chair of the IEEE PES student chapter at UCF. He now serves the local Orlando PES chapter as the vice chair over media and the IEEE Region 3 webmaster.

Cody is a consultant for 1898 & Co., part of Burns & McDonnell. He is focused on transmission planning, generation interconnection studies, and power system analysis. Prior to joining 1898 & Co., he earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida studying power system state estimation, applications of phasor measurement units, and resource optimization.

Aaron Staley, PE

Mr. Staley is an Electrical Engineer who manages the Transmission Planning and Reliability team at Orlando Utilities Commission. They are responsible for predicting and correcting transmission system behavior under a variety of conditions from the next minute to 10+ years in the future, along with the relevant NERC standards and FERC requirements. Aaron has been an ExCon member of the IEEE Orlando PES/IAS/PEL Chapter in various roles since 1998 when he unwisely made a sarcastic comment about some generic snacks served at a meeting and was placed in charge of the food by Debra Prince as a result. He has been Treasure since 2019 after Robert Gray retired, and currently shares that role with Tyler Thompson.

Mr. McIlrath is an Electrical Engineer in the Substation Department of Burns & McDonnell. Mr. McIlrath is an electrical engineer specializing in both physical and protection & control’s design of electric power substations. His responsibilities include the insurance that all designed projects comply with National Electric Codes & IEEE standards. Mr. McIlrath duties also include conducting electrical analyses to insure the functionality of all equipment within the designed substation. He serves as Orlando’s 2021 PES (Power & Energy Society’s) IEEE Chairman.
