Bernard Acquah, one of our IEEE Western North Carolina Section members, will give us a tour of parts of the GE Aerospace Manufacturing facility at 401 Sweeten Creek Industrial Park, Asheville, NC 28803. and discuss some of the innovative computer integration into manufacturing processes and systems.
A recent WLOS news had reported that: “Asheville and North Carolina continue our tradition of leading in aviation innovation. This significant investment represents our commitment to this community and its workforce”…”Asheville plays a key role in producing parts needed for the ramp-up of LEAP engines used on narrowbody aircraft, along with parts in widebody aircraft and military fighter jets, helicopters and ships”

Visitors MUST:

- Wear jeans or slacks
- Wear a shirt/blouse/jacket with covered shoulders
- NO CAMERAS ON TOUR, no exceptions
- NO FOOD OR DRINK ON TOUR, very few exceptions
Hopefully, we can gather together afterwards for a non-sponsored lunch at a restaurant convenient to the location.
