High-Resolution Single-Photon Superconducting Camera Developed by Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) scientists and their colleagues have built the highest resolution single-photon superconducting camera containing 400 times more pixels than any other device of its type. This 400,000-pixel superconducting camera can capture very weak light signals, including parts of the human brain, or even distant objects in space. This high-resolution device could open up new applications in science and biomedical research.
