Steve Kemp has been assigned since 4-September to the Ft. Pickett Interagency Coordination Center as a Red Cross volunteer to provide welfare and morale communications to Afghan Evacuees and assisting with transport of IKD (In-kind donations) from Manassas to Blackstone, VA.  His affiliation began with the IEEE MOVE initiative, and he takes Red Cross DST (Disaster Services Technology) and VA DCS (Disaster Cycle Services) assignments directly–always recognized through his IEEE affiliation.  He says “If you have the time and inclination, this is a great way to provide humanitarian assistance; and you meet great people along the way!  It’s INSTANT NETWORKING for those wishing to broaden their circle of contacts.  Join MOVE, affiliate with Red Cross and indicate your availability if you want to be called to serve.”  Red Cross has a firm policy to call only when marked ‘available’ within the time window of your choosing.
