IEEE Richmond Magnetics and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Joint Chapter
The IEEE Richmond Magnetics and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Societies Joint Chapter was formed in February? 2016, by Dr. Ravi Hadimani as Organizer and 18 Member-Petitioners (list coming soon).
While Dr. Hadimani is on the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), the chapter is an organizational element of the IEEE Richmond Section. At present, many of the members are from VCU, but it is the hope and intention of the Founders (Organizer & Petitioners) for the MagEMBS Joint Chapter to attract both industry and the engineer practitioner as active members.
The Richmond Section is delighted to announce the formation of this new chapter and would like all to know that events of global significance are already being planned, to include a Summer 2017 week long program which is expected to draw from a wide range of IEEE members internationally. As with all such events, this program will be open to members and non-members, with members getting enrollment priority and and enrollment discount. In some cases, international travel subsidies are available. One such subsidy a number of years ago was the inspiration for Dr. Hadimani to make the establishment of this new chapter a priority upon his joining the faculty at VCU. This is his second such venture, having established a similar organization at the University of Central Iowa.
