  1. Submissions for the Fall issue of the Region 3 Newsletter are due by 1 September(this weekend!). All Region 3 Sections, Chapters, and Student Organizations are encouraged to submit an article describing your activities, plans, goals, events, or section details.   2. Nominations for multiple IEEE awards are open. Please consider nominating a colleague (or yourself!) today.

  1. The Region 3 Professional Activities Committee (PAC) has approved over $6000 for projectsin seven Sections, one Student Branch, and one WIE Affinity Group as of August 24, 2024. PAC has over $8000 remaining on the budget for 2024 to assist Sections and Affinity Groups with their activities. Contact R3 PAC Chair Sharlene Brown, sharlenenicolabrown@gmail.com, to get access to this funding for your projects.

IEEE Membership for 2025 officially opened on Friday, 16 August. Anyone joining as of this date becomes a member for the 2025 membership year. This is a valuable time to promote IEEE membership! Any new member that joins in September receives an additional four months of membership at no extra cost.

Membership Development resources are available on the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) website and IEEE Technical Activities (TA) website. You can also join the Membership Development Volunteers community on IEEE Collabratec. Email chapter-support@ieee.org with questions.

The 2nd IEEE Life Member Evolution Conference will be June 11-13, 2025 at Tufts University in the Boston area. Three of IEEE Life Members values are Learning Never Stops, Actively Participate, and Contribute Time and Ideas. The 2025 Evolution Conference is a great opportunity to do all three. The conference will have a new technical program. Suggested areas for technical papers are: Technical Innovation, Computing and Informatics, Industry Applications, and Professional Development.
