Future City Competition presented by Discover E
Discover E presents the Future City Competition nationwide for 6th, 7th & 8th graders to foster interest in math, science and engineering through hands-on, real-world applications. The five month competition, in which students design and build models of future urban centers, encourages students to learn about engineering in a challenging and interesting way. This competition has grown to 40 regions across the nation and poised to becoming an international program within the next decade.

Atlanta Science Festival’s Exploration Expo

The Atlanta Section and Region 3 sponsored the Curious Kids Zone at the Exploration Expo in Piedmont Park! We hosted the “Are You Up to the STEM Challenge?” exhibit booth & “What’s Inside the MOVE Truck?” mobile exhibit.

Science Saturday w/ Coastal SC Section
A family STEM event highlighting Region 3’s STEM Literacy Project. Attendees enjoyed the books of Andrea Beaty and successfully completed the Three Little Pigs STEM Challenge.
Celebrating Engineering Ingenuity Day w/ the Richmond Section
IEEE Richmond Section hosted CEI day showcasing the challenges and opportunities in engineering and introduced attendees to particular types of engineering concepts from each discipline.
ASF Exploration Expo w/ Region 3 & IEEE-Atlanta
The Atlanta Science Festival’s Exploration Expo is the “Atlanta’s biggest science party” and the culminating event of the Atlanta Science Festival. Over 15,000 curious kids and adults witness the wonder of science with more than 85 hands-on interactive science booths, live science demos, and shows from local organizations, universities, and companies.
